Résumé

Related to an economic and environmental need of using new materials and complex and alternative pavements, to a European normative context on new characterizations of binders and bitumen binders, to a consistent research advanced of different countries and a request of constant expertise to diagnose degradations of pavements subjected to climatic conditions and for fatigue life complexes, it is necessary to develop other models and experiments that those used classically since many years in France. The purpose of this operation was to develop knowledge and modelling upstream of the behaviour of materials in pavements (behaviour laws, structural models) which all are not acquired yet. It aims meeting the upstream needs of the operations of the field fitted included in LCPC programmes, developing and at delivering the products necessary in terms of models, experiments and software for better answering the new requirements of prediction of the behaviour of the new pavements, of evaluation and pavement strengthening degraded. This research programme was linked to the Transport Materials and Infrastructures Research Unit in Nantes Scientific points to solve - Duration 2006-2009 A multi-layer structure of traditional, alternate or innovating pavement reacts above all in a reversible way in the passing of a heavy live load. In this case, for the prediction of the structural behavior, it is necessary to be able to look further into the comprehension and the modeling of the roadway and its materials as well from the point of view of the taking into account of the viscoelasticity and the microstructure of materials, as finer takings into account of the boundary conditions of loading and hydrous conditions. oSubject 1 of this operation is centered on the problems of “reversible behavior”. Its results must be able to establish the bases of models in which will be able to be then integrated the mechanisms of degradation of subjects 2 and 3. During the office plurality of these multiple loadings related at the same time on the traffic and the climatic environment, the materials in the roadway undergo unrecoverable deformations or ruptures which it is necessary to apprehend on the level of the three scales of the roadway - components, homogenized materials, structure of roadway multi-layer. oSubject 2 “irreversible behavior” approaches the plastic behaviors (permanent deformations, rutting). oSubject 3 “behavior with the rupture” relates to the damaging behaviors (tiredness, cracking) of materials and structures of roadways. These three subjects, with more or less strong coupling, are thus charged with looking further into the knowledge of the behavior of materials in their structure from their initial state to their degraded state.
